A success story at The Order of Engineers and Architects-Tripoli

When the ISO 9001 standard was created over 22 years ago it was mostly seen as a tool for manufacturing organizations and was heavily embraced by industries in the chemical sector, machining, fabrication, volume production… Although there was a specific standard for services, it was not until recent years, since the introduction of the process approach, that ISO 9001 has finally proven that it is the best standard to help any kind of organizations improve its processes, including service organizations. And so today our successful story is about the re-certification of the order of engineers and the successful integration of process approach and risk based thinking by the President Engineer Mr. Bassam Zyadeh.

The Order of Engineers and Architects – Tripoli and DQS Lebanon have been partners for more than 3 years, and this partnership is now growing more and more. DQS Lebanon would like to congratulate The Order of Engineers and Architects – Tripoli for receiving their re-certification of ISO 9001:2015, and hoping for a continues work with DQS Lebanon in the upcoming years.ISO 9001:2015 was already implemented when the the President Eng. Mr. Bassam Zyadeh started his journey, but his presence made a huge difference.

The Order of Engineers and Architects – Tripoli is divided into different departments and processes that are not particularly related to each other, which makes it challenging to implement the ISO 9001:2015, as the integration of the standard into the various departments and divisions is needed as a part of the process approach.

During the past 3 years, The Order of Engineers and Architects – Tripoli had a lot of risks, but The President Eng. Bassam Zyadeh succeeded in the integration of risk management and risk based approach into the quality management system already implemented, and had a great impact On the results of the processes, the overall process improvement, and the system improvement.

Moreover, DQS Lebanon worked closely with the quality management representative Ms. Hind Ghandour on achieving the vision of The President Engineer Mr. Bassam Zyadeh for The Order of Engineers and Architects – Tripoli. DQS Lebanon thanks Ms. Hind Ghandour for her continuous support.

Ms. Hind Ghandour was responsible for the implementation and continuous monitoring and auditing of the Quality Management System and the ISO 9001:2015 implementation and certification. The past years were a bit challenging for her, and she succeeded in leading the various divisions and processes into the re-certification of The Order of Engineers and Architects – Tripoli. Moreover, she worked on having a well structured communication flow, as well as documented procedures and evaluations, between departments to retain the ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Finally, DQS Lebanon would like again to thank The President Engineer Mr. Bassam Zyadeh for the past 3 years of success, and we wish him a good luck in his upcoming journey.
