Why Security in the Supply Chain? Why TAPA? According to the European Union, the theft of high value, high risk products moving in supply chains in Europe costs businesses in excess of € 8.2 billion a year. The threat from organized criminals is increasing and becoming more violent. TAPA is a unique forum that unites global manufacturers, logistics providers, freight carriers, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders with the common aim of reducing losses from international supply chains. The Association’s 600+ members include many of the world’s leading manufacturing brands as well as their logistics and transport providers with combined annual sales of over US$900 billion.
Since August 2016 DQS is part of the limited number of certified bodies permitted to pursue audits and certification according to the TAPA standards. in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa). With this and further qualifications DQS expands its competence in this industry sector further. The admission of DQS as certified body for Asia and Americas is one of the next targets of International Business Development.
